El 25 d&#8217;abril de 2026, es van reunir a la sala d&#8217;actes de la Resid\u00e8ncia d&#8217;Investigadors del CSIC de Barcelona un nodrit grup d&#8217;experts i professionals de l&#8217;educaci\u00f3 per a debatre fins a quin punt les innovacions pedag\u00f2giques, tan en voga avui dia, se sostenen en resultats d&#8217;estudis rigorosos, \u00e9s a dir, si disposem d&#8217;evid\u00e8ncies que garanteixin la viabilitat de les transformacions aplicades en el m\u00f3n escolar.<\/p>\n<p>La doctora <strong>Bianca Thoilliez<\/strong>, professora de pedagogia en la Universitat Aut\u00f2noma de Madrid, va presentar un <strong>contrapunt per a evitar un<\/strong> <strong>biaix cientificista<\/strong> en un \u00e0mbit, com l&#8217;educaci\u00f3, que deu molt al llegat humanista.<\/p>\n<p>A mode de provocaci\u00f3 intel\u00b7lectual, va desenvolupar la pon\u00e8ncia: <em>M\u00e9s enll\u00e0 de \u201cel que funciona\u201d. Evid\u00e8ncies, judici pedag\u00f2gic i d\u00e8ficit democr\u00e0tic en les pr\u00e0ctiques d&#8217;ensenyament<\/em>. El punt de parten\u00e7a de la seva exposici\u00f3 era la constataci\u00f3 de com les pr\u00e0ctiques educatives solen ignorar les dades aportades pels estudis, aix\u00f2 \u00e9s, les evid\u00e8ncies. La ra\u00f3 \u00e9s molt simple, ens deixem portar per postulats ideol\u00f2gics o per modes pedag\u00f2giques obviant l\u2019exist\u00e8ncia de pr\u00e0ctiques contrastades i m\u00e9s eficaces. Aquesta incoher\u00e8ncia \u00e9s m\u00e9s rellevant en contextos de vulnerabilitat, on l&#8217;entorn -especialment, les fam\u00edlies- no compensen els d\u00e8ficits escolars. M\u00e9s aviat al contrari, l&#8217;escola es veu en la necessitat de compensar els d\u00e8ficits socials.<\/p>\n<p>Ara b\u00e9, aquesta objecci\u00f3 a una pedagogia no basada en <strong>evid\u00e8ncies<\/strong>, si b\u00e9 \u00e9s correcta, alhora \u00e9s incompleta. No es tracta de dirimir entre evid\u00e8ncia s\u00ed o evid\u00e8ncia no, sin\u00f3 de reflexionar sobre quina autoritat li concedim, aix\u00ed com explorar els seus l\u00edmits normatius. En altres paraules, podr\u00edem dir que<strong> l&#8217;evid\u00e8ncia informa, per\u00f2 no decideix<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>La Dra. Thoilliez advoca pel judici pedag\u00f2gic com a contrap\u00e8s necessari. No es tracta d\u2019apostar per l&#8217;arbitrarietat o el subjectivisme, sin\u00f3 d&#8217;aplicar una racionalitat pr\u00e0ctica, arrelada en la realitat, que pugui exercir de mediaci\u00f3 entre les evid\u00e8ncies, els valors, el context i les relacions.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;ensenyament \u00e9s una activitat complexa, sotmesa a la incertesa i incardinada a un context real. No \u00e9s una simple intervenci\u00f3 t\u00e8cnica. Implica la relaci\u00f3 entre subjectes concrets. Podem dir que inclou una <strong>dimensi\u00f3 \u201cartesana\u201d<\/strong> en la qual conflueixen el saber fer, l&#8217;experi\u00e8ncia i la reflexi\u00f3.<\/p>\n<p>Per tot aix\u00f2, cal estar amatent i defugir la temptaci\u00f3 de fer de l&#8217;evid\u00e8ncia un substitut del judici pedag\u00f2gic. L&#8217;evid\u00e8ncia no ha d\u2019esdevenir un protocol que hagi d&#8217;aplicar-se mec\u00e0nicament. A vegades, hi recorrem buscant una falsa seguretat que ens deslliuri de la incertesa en el moment d&#8217;afrontar disjuntives educatives.<\/p>\n<p>Un excessiu \u00e8mfasi en les evid\u00e8ncies pot convertir els educadors en simples executors d&#8217;un disseny preestablert, i la seva responsabilitat queda redu\u00efda i circumscrita \u00fanicament al compliment de les instruccions rebudes.<\/p>\n<p>Ara b\u00e9, aquest debat no \u00e9s tan sols un problema pedag\u00f2gic. \u00c9s, tamb\u00e9, un problema pol\u00edtic. En el fons la q\u00fcesti\u00f3 \u00e9s: qui decideix qu\u00e8 fer? Assistim a una <strong>expansi\u00f3 de la governan\u00e7a educativa<\/strong>. Proliferen les xarxes d&#8217;experts i les eines d&#8217;avaluaci\u00f3 global que redefineixen els problemes i les solucions. Llavors la pregunta clau \u00e9s: qui decideix com ensenyar?<\/p>\n<p>En la seva exposici\u00f3, la Dra. Thoilliez va al\u00b7ludir al debat entre el posicionament de <strong>Walter Lippmann<\/strong> i el de <strong>John Dewey<\/strong>. Per al primer, s\u00f3n els experts els que decideixen i, per tant, l&#8217;exercici de la ciutadania queda limitada. En canvi, per a Dewey, el coneixement \u00e9s un b\u00e9 p\u00fablic que garanteix la deliberaci\u00f3 democr\u00e0tica.<\/p>\n<p>Aix\u00ed, la sobrevaloraci\u00f3 de les evid\u00e8ncies pot generar un aut\u00e8ntic d\u00e8ficit democr\u00e0tic, en delegar en els experts la deliberaci\u00f3 que, al seu torn, es basa en la legitimaci\u00f3 de les decisions a trav\u00e9s de les evid\u00e8ncies. En el fons es produeix una expropiaci\u00f3 del judici del docent i una deslegitimaci\u00f3 del seu saber i de la seva experi\u00e8ncia com a elements valuosos per a la presa de decisions. La pregunta sobre el \u201cqu\u00e8 fer\u201d es transforma en \u201cqu\u00e8 funciona\u201d, la resposta v\u00e0lida de la qual es troba, pretesament, en les evid\u00e8ncies. Aleshores, el judici docent pot quedar desautoritzat pel pes d&#8217;unes evid\u00e8ncies obtingudes de forma descontextualitzada.<\/p>\n<p>Un exemple serien els estudis sobre <strong>l&#8217;efecte de les r\u00e0tios<\/strong>. Les evid\u00e8ncies mostren l&#8217;esc\u00e0s impacte del nombre d&#8217;alumnes per professor com a element rellevant per a explicar els resultats acad\u00e8mics. Dit d&#8217;una altra manera, reduir les r\u00e0tios no garanteix la millora del rendiment. Ara b\u00e9, aquesta evid\u00e8ncia pot legitimar el mantenir r\u00e0tios altes? Cal tenir en compte altres factors, no sols les evid\u00e8ncies proporcionades pels estudis quantitatius, per a decidir les r\u00e0tios m\u00e9s adequades en cada cas.<\/p>\n<p>En resum, <strong>les evid\u00e8ncies s\u00f3n necess\u00e0ries, per\u00f2 resulten insuficients<\/strong>. S\u00f3n un recurs disponible que contribueix a qu\u00e8 les decisions estiguin m\u00e9s fonamentades. Per\u00f2 no es pot eludir la import\u00e0ncia del judici docent. Altrament, les estrat\u00e8gies educatives estaran en funci\u00f3 d\u2019una base normativa elaborada a partir de les <strong>aportacions dels experts<\/strong>.
