Ho hem vist innombrables vegades: l&#8217;ordinador personal i l&#8217;Encarta, el Moodle i el Canva, la Viquip\u00e8dia i el Kahoot; o els dispositius personals; o la pissarra digital. Cadascuna d&#8217;aquestes <strong>innovacions successives<\/strong> ha tingut el seu moment de gl\u00f2ria en aquesta mena d&#8217;apocalipsi en qu\u00e8 darrerament s&#8217;ha convertit l&#8217;educaci\u00f3. Ara li ha tocat a l&#8217;anomenada \u201c<strong>intel\u00b7lig\u00e8ncia artificial<\/strong>\u201d, i l&#8217;horitz\u00f3 es presenta m\u00e9s catastr\u00f2fic que mai.<\/p>\n<p>Resulta que els predicadors de la nova de\u00eftat estan completament conven\u00e7uts que, ara s\u00ed, mai no tornarem a ensenyar continguts. Per fi s&#8217;ha acomplert la profecia: cap coneixement mortal no es pot ni tan sols comparar amb la infinita saviesa que s&#8217;amaga darrere dels rec\u00f2ndits algorismes de l&#8217;\u00faltima joguina. Ens han posat davant l&#8217;evid\u00e8ncia del nostre pecat original, de manera que el vanit\u00f3s costum de pensar per un mateix s\u2019haur\u00e0 d\u2019erradicar; la Intel\u00b7lig\u00e8ncia Artificial <strong>ha vingut per salvar-nos de nosaltres mateixos<\/strong>. Jo, pecador. Nogensmenys, el perd\u00f3 exigeix \u200b\u200bprop\u00f2sit d&#8217;esmena: abandonem el cam\u00ed del coneixement i lliurem-nos en cos i \u00e0nima a l&#8217;\u00fanica activitat que encara ens pot redimir. En comptes de professors, <strong>la nova religi\u00f3 necessita sacerdots<\/strong>. No tot est\u00e0 perdut, per\u00f2 el m\u00f3n ha d&#8217;aprendre urgentment a posar-se al servei de la Intel\u00b7lig\u00e8ncia Artificial.<\/p>\n<p>Malgrat que pugui semblar un aixafaguitarres, a mi aquest fatalisme em sembla una mica excessiu, per no dir que em sembla una estrat\u00e8gia de manipulaci\u00f3 en tota regla. Es vanta de ser un diagn\u00f2stic seri\u00f3s a partir de l&#8217;estat actual de la tecnologia, per\u00f2 m\u00e9s aviat recorda all\u00f2 que deia Marx de \u201cl&#8217;opi del poble\u201d: adorm la cr\u00edtica del present, a canvi de la promesa d&#8217;un m\u00f3n millor que mai no arriba a materialitzar-se. I el problema \u00e9s l\u2019\u00e8xit aclaparador que aquests discursos han aconseguit entre la poblaci\u00f3. La pesta evangelitzadora s&#8217;ha est\u00e8s a la velocitat de la p\u00f3lvora i demostra, al meu entendre, que no deixa de ser sin\u00f3 <em>la mera moda per a vendre all\u00f2 que es posa de moda<\/em>. Al final, el fervor quasi religi\u00f3s d&#8217;aquests \u201cprofetes\u201d dista ben poc d&#8217;una estrat\u00e8gia de m\u00e0rqueting, amb conseq\u00fc\u00e8ncies molt beneficioses per a uns quants (els propietaris i comerciants del nou fetitxe) que s&#8217;aprofiten de la <strong>rauxa consumista<\/strong> que ells mateixos han promogut.<\/p>\n<p>A aquests efectes, el <strong>discurs pedag\u00f2gic oficialista<\/strong> no ha estat una excepci\u00f3, per m\u00e9s que els seus defensors es presentin com a capdavanters del pensament cr\u00edtic. La infecci\u00f3 s&#8217;ha est\u00e8s entre ells fins al punt que ara mateix resulta impossible distingir molts dels seus pros\u00e8lits de qualsevol venedor de pocions m\u00e0giques; una met\u00e0fora, aquesta, que, per m\u00e9s gastada que estigui, sembla prou adequada com a diagn\u00f2stic d\u2019aquest afany promissori que caracteritza les hosts de venedors de fum que actualment abarroten els graus de pedagogia. Com a conseq\u00fc\u00e8ncia, cada cop trobem m\u00e9s \u201cexperts\u201d que estan disposats a desfer-se d\u2019unes institucions educatives que els cal urgentment convertir en un trasto obsolet.<\/p>\n<p>Hom t\u00e9 la impressi\u00f3 que el consumisme de tota la vida s&#8217;ha instaurat al cor mateix de l&#8217;administraci\u00f3, <strong>disfressat de progr\u00e9s<\/strong>. En comptes de resoldre problemes reals, dilapidem els nostres escassos recursos en una font de l&#8217;eterna joventut que nom\u00e9s aconsegueix renovar les complicacions que hem d&#8217;afrontar a l&#8217;aula. Com a conseq\u00fc\u00e8ncia, l&#8217;educaci\u00f3 contempor\u00e0nia llangueix v\u00edctima d&#8217;una mena de <em>bovarysme<\/em>: igual que el personatge de Flaubert, ens trobem en una carrera accelerada cap a l&#8217;autodestrucci\u00f3. I els afectats nom\u00e9s ens adonarem de l&#8217;estafa (si en algun moment arribem a fer-ho com a societat) quan la bombolla hagi crescut tant que ens esclati a la cara.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c9s el somni dogm\u00e0tic del segle XXI: creure que una eina pot transcendir la materialitat de l&#8217;aula, les r\u00e0tios, la fatiga docent i les desigualtats socials. Per\u00f2 la realitat \u00e9s tossuda, i sempre acaba imposant-se. I la primera realitat a considerar \u00e9s l&#8217;econ\u00f2mica, que immediatament ens mostra que l&#8217;actual carrera per la IA no est\u00e0 origin\u00e0riament impulsada pels pedagogs ni les administracions p\u00fabliques, sin\u00f3 pel capital de risc i els seus interessos, a trav\u00e9s de fons d&#8217;inversi\u00f3 i gegants tecnol\u00f2gics que viuen de la cerca del <strong>proper n\u00ednxol de mercat<\/strong>. Com a model de negoci no promou una millora gradual i sostenible, sin\u00f3 escalar r\u00e0pid, capturar usuaris i monetitzar dades.<\/p>\n<p>Tanmateix, un volum de negoci descomunal no es tradueix necess\u00e0riament en rendibilitat, i una empresa privada que no \u00e9s rendible t\u00e9 molt dif\u00edcil la seva continu\u00eftat. Un panorama no gens negligible, en conseq\u00fc\u00e8ncia, \u00e9s el d&#8217;una bombolla financera, similar en molts aspectes a la que es va viure a inicis de segle amb l&#8217;auge de les empreses \u201c.com\u201d. Per aix\u00f2, en l&#8217;aspecte personal, aquesta mena d&#8217;obsessi\u00f3 pedagogista pel que anomenen \u201cinnovaci\u00f3\u201d no pot sin\u00f3 recordar-me a la c\u00e8lebre (encara que ja antiga) pel\u00b7l\u00edcula de <strong>Luis Garc\u00eda Berlanga<\/strong> <em>Bienvenido Mr. Marshall<\/em>, i aix\u00f2 no tant per la cr\u00edtica a la societat del seu temps \u2013per m\u00e9s que en molts aspectes segueixi vigent\u2013, sin\u00f3, sobretot, per la manera com els ficticis habitants de <em>Villar del R\u00edo <\/em>es lliuren a la desesperada promesa de tot una s\u00e8rie de millores que estan abocades a quedar-se en no res.<\/p>\n<p>Efectivament, hi ha quelcom rigorosament c\u00f2mic en aquest lliurament abnegat a cada nova tecnologia que promou el pedagogisme, i el cas de la Intel\u00b7lig\u00e8ncia Artificial no n&#8217;\u00e9s una excepci\u00f3. L\u00b4innovacionisme pedag\u00f2gic es veu obligat a oscil\u00b7lar entre l\u00b4ansietat consumista i acr\u00edtica \u2013alimentada per l\u00b4afany de novetats\u2013 i l\u00b4angoixa que ens provoca l\u00b4horitz\u00f3 d\u00b4un final dels temps que s\u00b4aproxima sense remei. Si res no \u00e9s \u201ccom abans\u201d (ni el m\u00f3n, ni els nens, ni tampoc nosaltres mateixos), per qu\u00e8 ho haurien de ser els coneixements i les maneres de transmetre&#8217;ls? Per tant, cal abandonar all\u00f2 que \u201cse\u201d sap i cedir l\u2019espai a un aprenentatge \u201cnou\u201d, on all\u00f2 \u201crevolucionari\u201d consisteix en l\u2019abandonament dels llibres i el saber dels professors, i se substitueixin per \u201cproductes\u201d elaborats \u201camb\u201d l&#8217;Encarta, o la Viquip\u00e8dia, o la Intel\u00b7lig\u00e8ncia Artificial\u2026 <strong>L&#8217;instrument esdevingut en fi<\/strong> en si mateix.<\/p>\n<p>Tot aix\u00f2 d\u00f3na lloc a una situaci\u00f3 de depend\u00e8ncia de la tecnologia que, tanmateix, ni tan sols compta amb un full de ruta clar. Aix\u00ed, l&#8217;obsessi\u00f3 per transformar el sistema educatiu a conveni\u00e8ncia de cada suposada innovaci\u00f3 ja ha provocat un efecte pervers a les nostres escoles: el d&#8217;un estat constant d&#8217;obsolesc\u00e8ncia. Una plataforma substitueix una altra abans que h\u00e0gim tingut temps d\u2019avaluar els efectes de l\u2019anterior. Les noves llic\u00e8ncies es converteixen en noves exig\u00e8ncies per a les quals els nostres \u201cantics\u201d dispositius queden aviat obsolets. S<strong>&#8216;implanten innovacions a cop de decret<\/strong> que rarament compten amb el consens que els atorgui un m\u00ednim de cr\u00e8dit entre els professionals que les hauran de posar en pr\u00e0ctica.<\/p>\n<p>No hi ha consideraci\u00f3 cient\u00edfica ni pseudocient\u00edfica que pugui justificar les presses en educaci\u00f3. El que vivim \u00e9s, senzillament, la instrumentalitzaci\u00f3 del propi sistema educatiu, convertit en un mitj\u00e0 per al benefici de tercers. Ni tan sols som plenament conscients de les conseq\u00fc\u00e8ncies pedag\u00f2giques de les noves eines, i no s\u00f3n poques les veus que denuncien efectes perniciosos per a l&#8217;alumnat, com ara el foment de conductes addictives, la p\u00e8rdua d&#8217;atenci\u00f3 o dificultats en el desenvolupament de la lectoescriptura. Si en medicina cada nou f\u00e0rmac ha de passar per anys d&#8217;assajos cl\u00ednics abans de sortir al mercat, per qu\u00e8, en canvi, <strong>utilitzem les escoles com a laboratoris<\/strong>?<\/p>\n<p>Dubto molt que cap veritable innovaci\u00f3 educativa vingui empaquetada en una <em>app<\/em> de moda finan\u00e7ada amb capital de risc. Per aix\u00f2 \u00e9s urgent que instaurem una morat\u00f2ria a tant d&#8217;entusiasme: a l&#8217;hora d&#8217;introduir qualsevol innovaci\u00f3, abans ha d&#8217;haver estat avaluada amb rigor; i aix\u00f2 implica que esperem fins a estar segurs de qu\u00e8 hi funciona, qu\u00e8 no, per a qui i sota quines condicions.
