En tractar de radiografiar el moment estel\u00b7lar de la reacci\u00f3 antiil\u00b7lustrada vinculada al <em>Sturm und Drang<\/em>, <strong>Isaiah Berlin<\/strong> es va centrar b\u00e0sicament en tres autors: <strong>Hamann, Vico i Schelling.<\/strong> Cap a la meitat del seu assaig <em>La contra-Il\u00b7lustraci\u00f3<\/em> (1973), Berlin escriu que \u201cles obres de Vico, poc sistem\u00e0tiques, aborden molts altres assumptes, per\u00f2 la seva import\u00e0ncia en la hist\u00f2ria de la <strong>Il\u00b7lustraci\u00f3<\/strong> rau en la seva insist\u00e8ncia en la pluralitat de les cultures i el conseg\u00fcent car\u00e0cter fal\u00b7la\u00e7 de la idea que hi ha una sola estructura de la realitat, que el fil\u00f2sof il\u00b7lustrat por veure-la tal com efectivament \u00e9s i, almenys d\u2019entrada, descriure-la amb un llenguatge l\u00f2gicament perfecte: una idea que ha obsessionat els pensadors des de <strong>Plat\u00f3<\/strong> fins a <strong>Leibniz<\/strong>, <strong>Condillac<\/strong>, <strong>Russell<\/strong> i els seus seguidors m\u00e9s fidels\u201d. Per dir-ho amb paraules gruixudes, Vico pensava que existien una ci\u00e8ncia i un cosmos su\u00efssos, una ci\u00e8ncia i un cosmos xinesos, o grecs o turcs o bascs o gal\u00b7lesos.<\/p>\n<p>El que va preocupar molt Berlin era la comprovaci\u00f3 que el racionalisme il\u00b7lustrat de mitjans del segle XVIII havia promogut la <strong>meritocr\u00e0cia antinobili\u00e0ria<\/strong>, per\u00f2 que la Democr\u00e0cia i el Republicanisme havien estat invents del <strong>Romanticisme antiil\u00b7lustrat<\/strong> en el seu afany ferotge per demostrar que no existia una manera \u00fanica i central de raonar i organitzar la cultura i l\u2019univers. La diversitat eren coses de <strong>Rousseau<\/strong> i <strong>Novalis<\/strong>, no de <strong>Hume<\/strong> o <strong>Montesquieu<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Per\u00f2 no van ser ni Vico ni Rousseau els acusats per Berlin d&#8217;haver-li donat el tret de gr\u00e0cia al progressisme optimista d&#8217;un cert <strong>Kant<\/strong> o <strong>Condorcet<\/strong>: \u201cSi Vico desitjava sacsejar els pilars sobre els quals descansava la Il\u00b7lustraci\u00f3 de la seva \u00e8poca, un te\u00f2leg i fil\u00f2sof de K\u00f6nigsberg, <strong>J.G. Hamann, <\/strong>el que cobejava era esclafar-los. Hamann va ser educat en el pietisme, com a membre de la m\u00e9s introspectiva i entotsolada de totes les sectes luteranes, bolcada en la comuni\u00f3 directa de l&#8217;\u00e0nima individual amb D\u00e9u, amargament antiracionalista, propensa als excessos emocionals, preocupada per les rigoroses experi\u00e8ncies de l&#8217;obligaci\u00f3 moral i per la necessitat d&#8217;una severa autodisciplina\u201d. La meva hip\u00f2tesi de treball \u00e9s ben senzilla: aix\u00ed com Hamann es va alimentar de la reacci\u00f3 protestant m\u00e9s tradicionalista que volia reaccionar i apartar-se de les reformes de <strong>Frederic el Gran<\/strong>, obsessionat per introduir a Pr\u00fassia la cultura francesa i les seves maneres militars i administratives, la reacci\u00f3 antiglobalista actual ha pres la forma d&#8217;una religi\u00f3 civil semblant en gaireb\u00e9 quasi tot al rigorisme pietista de Harmann.<\/p>\n<p>Espaordida davat la dissoluci\u00f3 de l\u2019ordre social anterior, la nostra classe mitjana albira el <strong>pedagogisme com un fetitxisme<\/strong> del m\u00f3n dels nens i una exaltaci\u00f3 gaireb\u00e9 mil\u00b7lenarista del Nou Home en un Nou Parad\u00eds a la Terra que desitja, per sobre de tot, evadir-se de l&#8217;estat <em>real<\/em> de les circumst\u00e0ncies educatives, tot instal\u00b7lant-se aix\u00ed en un c\u00f2mode utopisme autoritari. El problema d&#8217;aquesta conclusi\u00f3 (Hamann va fascinar <strong>Goethe<\/strong> tal i com avui <strong>Tonucci<\/strong> hipnotitza els nostres docents) \u00e9s que el resultat no sembla un alliberament, sin\u00f3 una submissi\u00f3 a les demandes desregulat\u00f2ries del m\u00f3n econ\u00f2mic. Una obligaci\u00f3 moral que voreja l&#8217;autohumiliaci\u00f3 substitueix la moral del treball dibuixada per <strong>Marx<\/strong>. En altres paraules, el neoespiritualisme antiprogressista no condueix a un aprofundiment en l&#8217;igualitarisme social, sin\u00f3 a una consolidaci\u00f3 dels estaments socioecon\u00f2mics.<\/p>\n<p>Certament, el pedagogisme cada dia s&#8217;assembla m\u00e9s a una <strong>versi\u00f3 laica del calvinisme<\/strong> o a un pietisme mil\u00b7lenarista obsessionat amb l&#8217;utilitarisme m\u00e9s militant. La ideologia universalista s&#8217;ha convertit en nom\u00e9s dos decennis en una aferrissada defensa de l\u2019ultraparticularisme, si no individualisme sacralitzat. Les propostes de redempci\u00f3 immediata i sense necessitats de pressupost (perqu\u00e8 cadasc\u00fa se salva a si mateix) responen m\u00e9s a un somni propi de la nost\u00e0lgia dels mons premoderns que no pas a una gesti\u00f3 materialista i correcta dels recursos en democr\u00e0cia, necess\u00e0riament procedimentals. Tradu\u00efm-nos: en comptes de desenvolupar un m\u00ednim de cultura comuna emancipat\u00f2ria, el nou pietisme pedagogista queda enredat en un t\u00e8rbol embolic de voluntarismes idealistes que deixa, per omissi\u00f3, el cam\u00ed lliure a tota mena de despossessions civils. Com ja educar\u00e0 la vida, com l&#8217;\u00fanica cosa aut\u00e8ntica \u00e9s fondre&#8217;s amb la naturalesa algor\u00edtmica, com l&#8217;\u00fanica cosa important \u00e9s l&#8217;amor i nom\u00e9s existeixen els valors que es desprenen de l&#8217;espectacle emotivista, ja no hi ha ning\u00fa a qui emancipar o formar per a l&#8217;ocupaci\u00f3 de qualitat. Treballar o llegir quedarien per a una altra vida, o per a l&#8217;elit que es burla de nosaltres. El pobre \u00e9s santificat, el que es deixa redimir i accepta la <strong>Veritat Revelada<\/strong> \u00e9s recompensat amb paraules incandescents.
