La traducci\u00f3 del t\u00edtol d&#8217;aquesta obra \u00e9s complicada al castell\u00e0, ja que \u201c<strong><em>expertise<\/em><\/strong>\u201d seria com una combinaci\u00f3 de per\u00edcia, experi\u00e8ncia i domini. Potser el que se li pot semblar m\u00e9s \u00e9s l&#8217;inici del t\u00edtol d&#8217;aquest article: \u201cla fi dels experts\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;objectiu del llibre \u00e9s alertar sobre la deliberada i estesa devaluaci\u00f3 del coneixement que s&#8217;ha produ\u00eft als Estats Units les darreres d\u00e8cades i que ha donat com a resultat una societat ressentida que recela dels experts i s&#8217;enroca en una ignor\u00e0ncia obstinada. Per\u00f2 hom por veure r\u00e0pidament que aquest problema tamb\u00e9 es pot aplicar a la nostra societat europea i espanyola. Ja al seu prefaci, l&#8217;autor ens adverteix que aquest fenomen est\u00e0 lligat al <strong>narcisisme<\/strong> que s&#8217;ha desenvolupat constantment en els \u00faltims temps als pa\u00efsos desenvolupats occidentals. Un narcisisme, segons la seva opini\u00f3, provocat per una combinaci\u00f3 de tres fen\u00f2mens: d\u00e8cades d&#8217;haver escoltat que ens hem de centrar en les nostres pr\u00f2pies necessitats, l&#8217;augment dels est\u00e0ndards de vida, i la desaparici\u00f3 d&#8217;amenaces internes i externes que en el passat unia les societats. Aquests tres fen\u00f2mens units a la proliferaci\u00f3 d&#8217;informaci\u00f3 infinita als nostres dispositius m\u00f2bils (sigui de la qualitat que sigui) fa que tinguem una il\u00b7lusi\u00f3 de coneixement que fan impossible l&#8217;autocorrecci\u00f3 o l&#8217;aprenentatge continu, sobretot quan la informaci\u00f3 dels cercadors d&#8217;Internet s&#8217;adapta als nostres biaixos psicol\u00f2gics i la tecnologia inform\u00e0tica en general explota les nostres vulnerabilitats psicol\u00f2giques per tal de captar la nostra atenci\u00f3, si \u00e9s possible de manera infinita (Harris, 2016).<\/p>\n<p>La veritat \u00e9s que un no pot deixar de pensar en el nostre sistema educatiu actual en comprendre la tesi de l&#8217;obra de Tom Nichols, sobretot en llegir la primera causa del narcisisme (d\u00e8cades d&#8217;haver escoltat que ens hem de centrar en les nostres pr\u00f2pies necessitats), perqu\u00e8 al nostre pa\u00eds ja portem unes d\u00e8cades en qu\u00e8 l&#8217;educaci\u00f3 s&#8217;adapta als interessos, emocions, gustos i motivacions de l&#8217;alumnat, creant \u201c<em>individus incapa\u00e7os de gestionar un m\u00ednim nivell de frustraci\u00f3, i, en alguns casos, aut\u00e8ntics narcisistes acostumats a negociar amb pares i professors en peu d&#8217;igualta<\/em>t\u201d (Fern\u00e1ndez Liria et al, 2023: 170). I tant \u00e9s que la investigaci\u00f3 en mat\u00e8ria educativa desmenteixi que adaptar-se als temes d&#8217;inter\u00e8s de l&#8217;alumnat (Dweck, 1986; Urban &amp; Kaplan, 2020) o al tipus d&#8217;activitats que m\u00e9s els agradi, com la gamificaci\u00f3, t\u00e9 efectes negatius sobre el seu aprenentatge (Carpenter et al., 2020), que combinar estimulaci\u00f3 emocional tamb\u00e9 ho dificulti (Vogel &amp; Schwabe, 2016), o que la seva motivaci\u00f3 no es basi nom\u00e9s en l\u2019inter\u00e8s pel tema, sin\u00f3 que hi ha altres factors que els poden arribar a motivar m\u00e9s, com per exemple (i s\u00e9 que aix\u00f2 far\u00e0 mal als defensors de la vella \u201cnova educaci\u00f3 \u201d) el desig de complir amb all\u00f2 que consideren la seva responsabilitat (Eccles, 2005); perqu\u00e8 del que es tracta \u00e9s d&#8217;oferir un context en qu\u00e8 l&#8217;alumne s&#8217;iguala al professor amb l&#8217;excusa d&#8217;oferir un sistema educatiu m\u00e9s \u201cigualitari i democr\u00e0tic\u201d. La qual cosa, a m\u00e9s de ser demag\u00f2gic i un raonament errat des de la seva base (el professor \u00e9s l&#8217;expert en el proc\u00e9s d&#8217;ensenyament-aprenentatge i l&#8217;alumne \u00e9s el que acudeix a la instituci\u00f3 educativa per sortir de la seva ignor\u00e0ncia), \u00e9s un atemptat contra el sentit com\u00fa i que va contra el dret a rebre una educaci\u00f3 digna i de qualitat a l&#8217;escola p\u00fablica. Queden molt \u201c<em>cool<\/em>\u201d i molt \u201c<em>student-friendly<\/em>\u201d afirmacions com \u201che apr\u00e8s tant dels meus alumnes com ells de mi\u201d, per\u00f2 si aix\u00f2 fos realment cert voldria dir que el professor que pronuncia aquesta frase no \u00e9s un bon docent. \u201c<em>\u00c9s fals que una democratitzaci\u00f3 de l&#8217;educaci\u00f3 produeixi ciutadans dem\u00f2crates, cr\u00edtics i aut\u00f2noms, que \u00e9s l&#8217;objectiu que pret\u00e9n defensar tota la legislaci\u00f3 actual. All\u00f2 que una (presumpta) democratitzaci\u00f3 que devalua els continguts produeix s\u00f3n analfabets funcionals incapa\u00e7os d&#8217;exercir com a ciutadans cr\u00edtics, precisament<\/em>\u201d (Fern\u00e1ndez Liria et al., 2023: 199). Com es pot veure, aquest pedagogisme igualador \u00e9s la mateixa causa de les desigualtats que diu combatre.<\/p>\n<p>Per\u00f2 avui imperen i fins i tot s&#8217;obliga els docents a introduir una s\u00e8rie de metodologies com l&#8217;aprenentatge basat en projectes, actual m\u00e8tode estrella de la vella \u201cnova educaci\u00f3\u201d, que es basa en l&#8217;aprenentatge per descobriment basat en un proc\u00e9s constant d&#8217;assaig i error per part de l&#8217;alumnat, amb el professor com un guia-observador que interv\u00e9 tan poc com sigui possible i menysprea la instrucci\u00f3 directa planificada per un professor expert. Es tracta, una vegada m\u00e9s, de posar l&#8217;alumne al mateix nivell que el professor, quan un alumne, tret que sigui un expert en la mat\u00e8ria, t\u00e9 un nivell de coneixements insuficient per integrar nova informaci\u00f3 complexa que li sobrecarrega la mem\u00f2ria de treball i repercuteix negativament en el seu aprenentatge (Garnett, 2020), almenys pitjor que si un professor explica, acompanya i seq\u00fcencia els continguts complexos pas a pas i desenvolupa exemples adaptant-se al nivell de els seus aprenents (Chen et al., 2016). I aix\u00f2, com la majoria de les males idees amb bones intencions que se li acudeixen a la vella \u201cnova educaci\u00f3\u201d, sobretot castiga l&#8217;alumnat d&#8217;origen socioecon\u00f2mic humil que t\u00e9 un capital cultural intrafamiliar baix (Education Endowment Foundation, 2016). S&#8217;imposen metodologies que, autoproclamades defensores dels interessos de l&#8217;alumnat, en realitat van contra els interessos reals d&#8217;aquest.<\/p>\n<p>D&#8217;aquesta manera, totes aquestes metodologies que porten l\u2019alumnat a un nivell tan baix de coneixements, el deixen desarmat pel que fa no nom\u00e9s controlar les seves vides a nivell laboral o personal, sin\u00f3 tamb\u00e9 per a tenir un m\u00ednim de capacitat cr\u00edtica per a distingir la veracitat dels discursos que escolten (Garc\u00eda Fern\u00e1ndez i Galindo Ferr\u00e1ndez, 2024). De fet, davant d&#8217;un panorama en qu\u00e8 9 de cada 10 alumnes no saben distingir un fet d&#8217;una opini\u00f3 en acabar el per\u00edode d&#8217;escolaritzaci\u00f3 obligat\u00f2ria a Espanya, com es despr\u00e8n l&#8217;Informe PISA 2018. A alg\u00fa el pot sorprendre que els populismes i el seu suport electoral estigui pujant com l&#8217;escuma no nom\u00e9s a Espanya sin\u00f3 a tot el m\u00f3n? I \u00e9s que l&#8217;efecte \u201cDunning-Krugger\u201d (anomenat aix\u00ed perqu\u00e8 el van descriure els psic\u00f2legs de la Universitat Cornell David Dunning i Justin Kruger el 1999) fa que a menys coneixements es tingui m\u00e9s confian\u00e7a en les pr\u00f2pies qualitats i en la veracitat de les idees pr\u00f2pies, ja que la pr\u00f2pia incompet\u00e8ncia repercuteix en l&#8217;habilitat per adonar-se de possibles conclusions err\u00f2nies o d&#8217;eleccions desafortunades. Aix\u00f2 ja ho va resumir Charles Bukowski en la seva famos\u00edssima frase que \u201c<em>el problema amb el m\u00f3n \u00e9s que la gent intel\u00b7ligent \u00e9s plena de dubtes, mentre que la gent est\u00fapida \u00e9s plena de certeses<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I \u00e9s que el narcisisme i les teories de la conspiraci\u00f3 s\u00f3n dues cares de la mateixa moneda, que s&#8217;anomena ignor\u00e0ncia: \u201cConspiracy theories are deeply attractive to people who have a hard time making sense of a complicated world and who have no patience for less dramatic explanations. Such theories also appeal to a strong streak of narcissism: there are people who would choose to believe in complicated nonsense rather than accept that their own circumstances are incomprehensible, the result of issues beyond their intellectual capacity to understand, or even their own fault\u201d<a name=\"_ftnref1\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/educationalevidence.com\/el-fin-de-los-expertos-conlleva-al-auge-del-narcisismo-la-ansiedad-y-los-populismos\/?preview=true#_ftn1\"><sup>[1]<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0(Nichols, 2017: 58). Els alumnes han d&#8217;adaptar-se als coneixements, i no a l&#8217;inrev\u00e9s, per tal de no caure aix\u00ed en el relativisme absolut i en l&#8217;abs\u00e8ncia de veritat, i no ser carn de can\u00f3 de la desinformaci\u00f3 i les <em>fake news<\/em> que es desprenen de les xarxes. En cas contrari, ens encaminem a una societat en qu\u00e8 les persones menys informades s\u00f3n tingudes com a expertes i exigeixen que la seva opini\u00f3 sigui tan v\u00e0lida com la dels mateixos especialistes sobre assumptes a qu\u00e8 no han dedicat cap esfor\u00e7 per adquirir coneixements.<\/p>\n<p>Necessitem un sistema educatiu valent i exigent, que respecti i estimi els seus estudiants establint unes expectatives altes que els prepari per a la vida adulta. \u00c9s una necessitat social per al progr\u00e9s del pa\u00eds a totes les seves esferes: pol\u00edtica, econ\u00f2mica, cultural i fins i tot moral. Per\u00f2 ara mateix no \u00e9s aix\u00ed. El mateix Tom Nichols d\u00f3na a la diana a l&#8217;afirmar que \u201cthe stampede toward college by unprepared students is also due to a culture of affirmation and self-actualization that forbids confronting children with failure<a name=\"_ftnref2\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/educationalevidence.com\/el-fin-de-los-expertos-conlleva-al-auge-del-narcisismo-la-ansiedad-y-los-populismos\/?preview=true#_ftn2\"><strong><sup>[2]<\/sup><\/strong><\/a>\u201d (2017: 78). Encara que es refereix als Estats Units, aqu\u00ed a Espanya aix\u00f2 ens sona tamb\u00e9 prou, oi? Els anem protegint del frac\u00e0s, inflant artificialment les seves notes per pujar la seva autoestima en lloc d&#8217;incentivar els seus \u00e8xits, evitant que confrontin la seva ignor\u00e0ncia amb esfor\u00e7 i eliminant totes les conseq\u00fc\u00e8ncies que se\u2019n desprenen, per\u00f2 quan arribin a l&#8217;edat adulta tota aquesta sobreprotecci\u00f3 (a qu\u00e8 moltes fam\u00edlies tamb\u00e9 col\u00b7laboren) ja no hi ser\u00e0, i sentiran que estan sols davant l&#8217;abisme, que el seu pa\u00eds els ha fallat en no proporcionar-los una educaci\u00f3 de qualitat que els permeti viure aut\u00f2nomament. Aquesta sobreproducci\u00f3 a l&#8217;etapa infantil i adolescent, tal com m\u00faltiples estudis psicol\u00f2gics no paren de demostrar, crea persones insegures, dependents i amb pors que desenvolupen elevats nivells d&#8217;ansietat a l&#8217;edat adulta (com testifiquen els seus alarmants nivells en joves i adults al nostre pa\u00eds) .<\/p>\n<p>Voldria acabar aquest article amb una darrera cita de l&#8217;obra de Nichols (2017: 84): \u201cUnearned praise and hollow successes build a fragile arrogance in students that can lead them to lash out at the first teacher or employer who dispels that illusion, a habit that proves hard to break in adulthood<a name=\"_ftnref3\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/educationalevidence.com\/el-fin-de-los-expertos-conlleva-al-auge-del-narcisismo-la-ansiedad-y-los-populismos\/?preview=true#_ftn3\"><strong><sup>[3]<\/sup><\/strong><\/a>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>___<\/p>\n<p>[1] Les teories de la conspiraci\u00f3 s\u00f3n profundament atractives per a les persones a les quals els costa entendre un m\u00f3n complicat i que no tenen paci\u00e8ncia per a explicacions menys dram\u00e0tiques. Aquestes teories tamb\u00e9 apel\u00b7len a una forta vena de narcisisme: hi ha persones que triarien creure en ximpleries complicades en comptes d&#8217;acceptar que les seves circumst\u00e0ncies s\u00f3n incomprensibles, el resultat de q\u00fcestions que estan m\u00e9s enll\u00e0 de la seva capacitat intel\u00b7lectual per comprendre, o fins i tot la seva pr\u00f2pia culpa .<\/p>\n<p>[2] L&#8217;estampida cap a la universitat per part d&#8217;estudiants no preparats tamb\u00e9 \u00e9s deguda a una cultura d&#8217;afirmaci\u00f3 i autorealitzaci\u00f3 que prohibeix confrontar els nens amb el frac\u00e0s.<\/p>\n<p>[3] Els elogis immerescuts i els \u00e8xits buits creen una fr\u00e0gil arrog\u00e0ncia en els estudiants que pot portar-los a carregar contra el primer mestre o cap que dissipi aquesta il\u00b7lusi\u00f3, un h\u00e0bit que resulta dif\u00edcil de trencar a l&#8217;edat adulta.<\/p>\n<p>________________________________________<\/p>\n<h6><strong>Refer\u00e8ncies bibliogr\u00e0fiques:<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>Carpenter, S.K., Witherby, A.E. &amp; Tauber, S.K.
