I el tema \u00e9s for\u00e7a m\u00e9s complex, per tal com hi ha involucrada la pr\u00f2pia idea d&#8217;ensenyar.<\/p>\n<p>Aix\u00ed, la vindicaci\u00f3 de la llibertat de c\u00e0tedra sol consistir en plantejar-la, contra els seus detractors, com un atac contra la llibertat d&#8217;expressi\u00f3; i ho \u00e9s, sens dubte, per\u00f2 no en els termes que solen adduir, cosa que repercuteix en perjudici d\u2019all\u00f2 que hom diu estar defensant. Perqu\u00e8 en identificar la llibertat de c\u00e0tedra com un dret indiscernible del de llibertat d&#8217;expressi\u00f3 i replicar amb una defensa tancada d\u2019aquesta, estem deixant de banda les raons i les funcions per les quals es va pensar i instituir una aital figura. I \u00e9s que <strong>llibertat de c\u00e0tedra no vol dir que un professor pugui explicar \u00abel que vulgui\u00bb<\/strong> fent \u00fas de la seva llibertat d&#8217;expressi\u00f3 en l&#8217;exercici de les seves funcions, ni la seva vindicaci\u00f3 que pugui o que ho hagi de fer. I aleshores estem eludint l&#8217;aut\u00e8ntic objecte del debat.<\/p>\n<p>Aix\u00f2 ho saben perfectament les autoritats educatives \u2013els seus bur\u00f2crates i els seus pedag\u00f2crates\u2013, que per aix\u00f2 plantegen la q\u00fcesti\u00f3 en els termes tramposos d&#8217;una partida d&#8217;escacs ja comen\u00e7ada i amb les peces pr\u00f2pies disposades en posici\u00f3 clarament guanyadora. Perqu\u00e8 \u00e9s evident que un professor ni pot ni ha d\u2019explicar el que vulgui. Perqu\u00e8, almenys en un estat de dret -i hom suposa que hi seguim sent-, <strong>un professor es deu a la seva condici\u00f3 de d\u2019ensenyant i a l&#8217;especialitat que li correspon impartir <\/strong>amb rigor i solv\u00e8ncia, essent aquest el marc en qu\u00e8 queden fixats els l\u00edmits i el seu propi domini: la llibertat de c\u00e0tedra. Cosa que mai els governs i les autoritats educatives tampoc no haurien d&#8217;oblidar, encara que ho facin massa sovint, potser aclaparats pel fervor ideol\u00f2gic suscitat per interessos m\u00e9s aviat opacs.<\/p>\n<p>El veritable problema que s&#8217;est\u00e0 ventilant al voltant de la llibertat de c\u00e0tedra no \u00e9s el de la llibertat d&#8217;expressi\u00f3 sin\u00f3 nom\u00e9s de manera molt subtil i cr\u00edptica. Perqu\u00e8 des d&#8217;un context en qu\u00e8 s&#8217;est\u00e0 propiciant obertament la devaluaci\u00f3 fins a la inanitat dels continguts de coneixement, el poder sap molt b\u00e9 que no cal suprimir-la expl\u00edcitament; li basta amb neutralitzar-la mitjan\u00e7ant <strong>la imposici\u00f3 del m\u00e8tode sobre els continguts curriculars de coneixement que cal impartir<\/strong>, que s\u00f3n l&#8217;aut\u00e8ntic objecte del desig que el poder cobeja poder administrar, certament amb criteris molt diferents dels propis de la tradici\u00f3 il\u00b7lustrada i republicana, per a la qual \u00abescolaritzaci\u00f3\u00bb universal significava \u00abensenyament\u00bb universal i igualitari. Ara, en canvi, del que es tracta \u00e9s de devaluar els coneixements acad\u00e8mics fins a la inanitat. I per aix\u00f2 nom\u00e9s cal desactivar-la imposant un escenari en qu\u00e8 resulti impossible exercir-la o resulti completament inn\u00f2cua. \u00c9s a dir, prescripci\u00f3 metodol\u00f2gica en comptes de proscripci\u00f3 pol\u00edtica; funciona millor, els resultats s\u00f3n els mateixos i gaireb\u00e9 ning\u00fa protesta.<\/p>\n<p>Una altra cosa \u00e9s que la llibertat d&#8217;expressi\u00f3 tamb\u00e9 resulti greument i tr\u00e0gicament afectada. \u00c9s clar que s\u00ed, per\u00f2 la q\u00fcesti\u00f3 \u00e9s que avui dia ja no ens les estem tenint amb un projecte totalitari de fais\u00f3 cl\u00e0ssica que apunti cap a la seva prohibici\u00f3, sin\u00f3 que la mant\u00e9 formalment alhora que apuntala un model d&#8217;ensenyament-deixalleria que n\u2019asseguri la incapacitat d\u2019exercir-la, si m\u00e9s no cr\u00edticament i amb un m\u00ednim de rang conceptual. Sense coneixements no hi ha esperit ni pensament cr\u00edtic que valgui, ni criteri solvent sobre el qual exercir-ho. I sense aix\u00f2, la llibertat d&#8217;expressi\u00f3 \u00e9s com el \u00abdret\u00bb a creure que la Terra \u00e9s plana talment com qualsevol infeli\u00e7 \u00e9s \u00ablliure\u00bb de dir que s&#8217;autopercep com un ornitorinc.<\/p>\n<p>I si la llibertat de c\u00e0tedra enerva el neototalitarisme pedagogista avui dia hegem\u00f2nic no \u00e9s perqu\u00e8 un professor pugui explicar el que vulgui -aix\u00f2 se\u2019ls en refot tan bon punt aquesta figura estigui anul\u00b7lada <em>de facto<\/em> per privaci\u00f3 del seu espai vital-, sin\u00f3 <strong>per impedir que expliqui el que ha d\u2019ensenyar<\/strong>, \u00e9s a dir, els continguts acad\u00e8mics de la seva especialitat, el domini dels quals ha acreditat i t\u00e9 com a funci\u00f3 impartir d\u2019acord amb un curr\u00edculum digne d\u2019aquest nom. I la imposici\u00f3 <strong>d&#8217;un metodologisme hiperideologitzat<\/strong> \u00e9s la manera de neutralitzar la transmissi\u00f3 de coneixements pel procediment de subjugar-los a la f\u00e8rula inquisitorial del control burocr\u00e0tic \u00a0\u00abprocedimental\u00bb a qu\u00e8 queda supeditada.<\/p>\n<p>La llibertat de c\u00e0tedra no \u00e9s, doncs, arbitrarietat, sin\u00f3 tot al contrari: ajustar-se al coneixement, a la ra\u00f3 i a la ci\u00e8ncia en l&#8217;exercici de la doc\u00e8ncia. \u00c9s llibertat, s\u00ed, tamb\u00e9 quant a imperatiu moral, pura deontologia professional docent. Llibertat de c\u00e0tedra no significa de cap manera que un professor pugui anar \u00abensenyant\u00bb que la Terra \u00e9s plana, ni encara que aix\u00ed ho pensi (?) en el m\u00e9s pregon de si mateix. Tamb\u00e9 un jutge pot \u00abintuir\u00bb que un acusat \u00e9s culpable, per\u00f2 si no t\u00e9 proves o aquestes indiquen el contrari, l\u2019ha de declarar innocent perqu\u00e8 la intu\u00efci\u00f3 no \u00e9s una prova.<\/p>\n<p>Qu\u00e8 passa aleshores si el poder obliga a explicar que la Terra \u00e9s plana o a contemplar el seu ensenyament i \u00abarguments\u00bb com una creen\u00e7a o una opini\u00f3 m\u00e9s o menys estesa i en qualsevol cas respectable? Doncs ni m\u00e9s ni menys que el que est\u00e0 passant avui dia, que decauen o es dilueixen els requisits de racionalitat cient\u00edfica i qualsevol bagatel\u00b7la serveix per a coadjuvar en el projecte de convertir l&#8217;escolaritzaci\u00f3 obligat\u00f2ria en un mer tr\u00e0mit formal: en una farsa.<\/p>\n<p>I la llibertat de c\u00e0tedra molesta perqu\u00e8 incorpora no nom\u00e9s un precepte legal, la funci\u00f3 d&#8217;ensenyar, sin\u00f3 tamb\u00e9 moral: l&#8217;obligaci\u00f3 de fer-ho, un imperatiu els l\u00edmits i el domini del qual s\u00f3n els del coneixement racional i cient\u00edfic. I l&#8217;opci\u00f3 \u00e9s convertir-la en paper mullat pel procediment potenciar la desnaturalitzaci\u00f3 de la pr\u00f2pia figura del docent, convertint-lo en un <em>coach<\/em>, en un animador social o, en definitiva, en un farsant. Continuar\u00e0 havent-hi llibertat de c\u00e0tedra oficialment, \u00e9s clar que s\u00ed, perqu\u00e8 sense l\u2019oxigen que necessita s\u2019esdevindr\u00e0 merament testimonial i inn\u00f2cua; com tamb\u00e9 hi haur\u00e0 llibertat d&#8217;expressi\u00f3, per\u00f2 ning\u00fa no exercir\u00e0 de manera efectiva ni una ni una altra.<\/p>\n<p>En aix\u00f2 s&#8217;est\u00e0 convertint el nostre sistema educatiu, en una monstruosa i grollera mentida. Per aix\u00f2 hem d&#8217;insistir i reiterar una vegada i una altra que, tot i mantenir-la, s&#8217;est\u00e0 destruint, perqu\u00e8 <strong>llibertat de c\u00e0tedra \u00e9s que ning\u00fa et pot obligar a explicar que la Terra \u00e9s plana, alhora que no ho has de fer perqu\u00e8 ja has de saber pr\u00e8viament que no ho \u00e9s<\/strong>.
