Imprescindible visitar-la: <a href=\"https:\/\/calculatingempires.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">es fascinaran<\/a>. Ser\u00e0 un d&#8217;aquells moments de la seva vida en qu\u00e8, encara que no siguin persones consumistes, trobaran a faltar no tenir una pantalla m\u00e9s gran.<\/p>\n<p>Segons defineixen Crawford i Joler a la <a href=\"https:\/\/calculatingempires.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">p\u00e0gina web del projecte<\/a>, <em>Calculating Empires<\/em> \u00e9s una visualitzaci\u00f3 de la seva <strong>investigaci\u00f3 tecnosocial a gran escala<\/strong>, a m\u00e9s una instal\u00b7laci\u00f3 f\u00edsica per als afortunats que puguin visitar-la, que sens dubte desconstrueix la genealogia sociotecnol\u00f2gica actual, enfocant-se a la coevoluci\u00f3 de la ci\u00e8ncia, la tecnologia i les estructures socials durant els darrers cinc segles. El projecte examina els patrons tecnol\u00f2gics de diversos temes, classificats en dos grans grups (comunicaci\u00f3 i computaci\u00f3; control i classificaci\u00f3) des de l&#8217;any 1500, per a mostrar com aquestes forces vives continuen subjugant-nos, i potser per a reflexionar, perqu\u00e8 no, com podrien ser desmantellades . De fet, Kate Crawford ja havia fet un exercici demolidor a la seva \u201cAtles de la IA\u201d el 2021, en aquell cas en un <a href=\"https:\/\/cqllab.upc.edu\/people\/therfer\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/AtlasOfAI_IyC_sep_2021.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">assaig sublim<\/a> sobre l&#8217;impacte de la intel\u00b7lig\u00e8ncia artificial als ecosistemes i a les societats humanes.<\/p>\n<p><em>Calculating Empires<\/em> es vertebra doncs en quatre tem\u00e0tiques: comunicaci\u00f3, computaci\u00f3, classificaci\u00f3 i control. L&#8217;obra il\u00b7lustra els canvis, la tecnoevoluci\u00f3 d&#8217;un conjunt d&#8217;artefactes seleccionats entrella\u00e7ats amb una hist\u00f2ria del control social que sovint no percebem. \u00c9s com quan ens oblidem de la quotidianitat de l&#8217;aire que respirem, fins que ens falta i ens ofeguem! Aix\u00ed, en el seu relat visual, ens expliquen, l&#8217;eix vertical \u00e9s un eix cronol\u00f2gic que comen\u00e7a al segle XVI, mentre que l&#8217;eix horitzontal es divideix en una col\u00b7lecci\u00f3 de sistemes: algorismes, arquitectura, cossos, fronteres\u2026i educaci\u00f3!<\/p>\n<p>Permeteu-me llan\u00e7ar als docents algunes preguntes, ret\u00f2riques en algun cas, que potser els donin joc per plantejar activitats a l&#8217;aula el proper curs. Per a comen\u00e7ar: com han influ\u00eft i modelat els sistemes educatius al llarg del temps les tecnologies i les formes d&#8217;organitzaci\u00f3 social? I seguint els t\u00f2pics de <em>Calculating Empires<\/em>:<\/p>\n<p>i) <strong>Colonialisme i educaci\u00f3<\/strong>: quines tecnologies i com s&#8217;han utilitzat en el proc\u00e9s colonial per imposar els sistemes educatius que van servir per controlar i assimilar cultures i coneixements locals, als valors, les creences i estructures del poder invasor? La impremta i l&#8217;escriptura van ser algunes d&#8217;aquestes tecnologies, i potser de les m\u00e9s abjectes?<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>ii) <strong>Militaritzaci\u00f3 i educaci\u00f3<\/strong>: com es promouen de forma subrept\u00edcia les disciplines cient\u00edfiques i t\u00e8cniques amb aplicacions militars al sistema educatiu? Es blanquegen les <a href=\"https:\/\/www.europarl.europa.eu\/topics\/es\/article\/20210319STO00424\/productos-de-doble-uso-que-son-y-a-que-se-debe-la-nueva-normativa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tecnologies anomenades de \u201cdoble \u00fas<\/a>\u201d a la societat, mitjan\u00e7ant el fals mite de la neutralitat de la tecnologia?<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>iii) <strong>Automatitzaci\u00f3 i educaci\u00f3<\/strong>: Com ha impactat l&#8217;automatitzaci\u00f3 a l&#8217;educaci\u00f3? Des de la substituci\u00f3 de m\u00e8todes d&#8217;ensenyament tradicionals per tecnologies digitals, fins a l&#8217;\u00fas m\u00e9s recent d&#8217;intel\u00b7lig\u00e8ncia artificial, anal\u00edtiques d&#8217;aprenentatge o aprenentatge autom\u00e0tic a classe, qu\u00e8 s&#8217;ha perdut a l&#8217;ensenyament amb aquestes inger\u00e8ncies tecnol\u00f2giques? S&#8217;ha guanyat res?<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>iv) <strong>Control i educaci\u00f3<\/strong>: com s&#8217;ha est\u00e8s a l&#8217;\u00e0mbit educatiu la privatitzaci\u00f3 i el control de recursos, f\u00edsics i virtuals? Com es mercadeja amb l&#8217;educaci\u00f3 tecnol\u00f2gica, sovint des dels mateixos governs? Com aconseguir la paradoxa que subministrant dispositius tecnol\u00f2gics massivament (enriquint els seus venedors), s&#8217;aconsegueixi un acc\u00e9s desigual a tecnologies educatives avan\u00e7ades?<\/p>\n<p>Els poders f\u00e0ctics que hi ha darrere de les din\u00e0miques hist\u00f2riques, que Crawford i Joler (2023) han dibuixat magistralment a <em>Calculating Empires,<\/em> han configurat els sistemes educatius contemporanis i hi continuen influint. Desmantellar aquestes estructures opressives per a crear un sistema educatiu m\u00e9s equitatiu i lliure, que permeti un acc\u00e9s igualitari a la tecnologia i al coneixement, amb les marees en contra de legisladors, administradors i empreses tecnol\u00f2giques sense escr\u00fapols, sembla condemnar-nos a la guerra de guerrilles de la nostra humil aula.<\/p>\n<p>Per\u00f2 aquesta tardor, de deb\u00f2, el millor \u00e9s embriagar-se i abstreure&#8217;s en la reflexi\u00f3 mentre naveguen per <em>Calculating Empires<\/em>.
