Fa 25 anys em vaig trobar en aquesta mateixa tessitura i sempre recordar\u00e9 el tema que vaig escollir per defensar-lo davant el tribunal amb la seva corresponent aplicaci\u00f3 did\u00e0ctica. Era el primer del temari i el t\u00edtol no resultava, a priori, gaire atractiu: \u201c<strong>Epistemologia de l&#8217;Educaci\u00f3 F\u00edsica:<\/strong> evoluci\u00f3 i desenvolupament de les diferents concepcions i del seu objecte d&#8217;estudi\u201d. L&#8217;Epistemologia \u00e9s la branca de la Filosofia que estudia la teoria del coneixement i, aplicada a una disciplina, suposa analitzar-ne i justificar-ne el fonament cient\u00edfic.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;elecci\u00f3 d&#8217;aquest tema va respondre dos motius. El primer, estrat\u00e8gic. Conscient de la seva dificultat, sabia que pr\u00e0cticament ning\u00fa no ho defensaria i aix\u00f2 em permetria diferenciar-me de la resta de candidats. El segon, reivindicatiu. El seu contingut atorgava un estatus cient\u00edfic a una mat\u00e8ria que tradicionalment havia estat considerada de segona categoria tant a nivell acad\u00e8mic com educatiu. De fet, als anys 90, i potser tamb\u00e9 ara, moltes persones mostraven la seva sorpresa en descobrir que per ser professor d&#8217;Educaci\u00f3 F\u00edsica calia estudiar una carrera universit\u00e0ria.<\/p>\n<p>El cam\u00ed recorregut per arribar fins aquest reconeixement ha estat llarg al nostre pa\u00eds. <strong>Durant el franquisme, l&#8217;Educaci\u00f3 F\u00edsica va adquirir un descr\u00e8dit important<\/strong>. Coneguda popularment com a \u201c<strong>Gimn\u00e0stica<\/strong>\u201d, un terme que amb el pas dels anys va tenir un significat pejoratiu, els seus continguts es basaven en la gimn\u00e0stica sueca. Una pr\u00e0ctica f\u00edsica ideal per la capacitat per transmetre els continguts pol\u00edtics d&#8217;ordre, disciplina i unitat i per la facilitat d&#8217;aprenentatge i posada en pr\u00e0ctica per part del professorat a trav\u00e9s de les taules reiterades.<\/p>\n<p>A m\u00e9s, la seva depend\u00e8ncia de la Delegaci\u00f3 Nacional d&#8217;Esports, <strong>vinculada a la <em>Secretar\u00eda General del Movimiento<\/em><\/strong>, li va atorgar un car\u00e0cter pol\u00edtic marcat. A difer\u00e8ncia de la resta de mat\u00e8ries educatives regulades pel Ministeri d&#8217;Educaci\u00f3 Nacional i de la formaci\u00f3 de docents que depenia de les Escoles de Magisteri, els curr\u00edculums d&#8217;Educaci\u00f3 F\u00edsica obe\u00efen a la ideologia del partit \u00fanic i els futurs professors eren formats pels instructors de l\u2019<em>Academia de Mandos Jos\u00e9 Antonio,<\/em> del <em>Frente de Juventudes,<\/em> i de <em>l&#8217;Academia de Mandos Isabel La Cat\u00f2lica<\/em>, de la <em>Secci\u00f3n Femenina<\/em> (1).<\/p>\n<p>Es pot dir que els docents d&#8217;Educaci\u00f3 F\u00edsica van ser precursors dels professors d&#8217;\u00e0mbits, ja que tamb\u00e9 s&#8217;encarregaven d&#8217;impartir la <em>Formaci\u00f3n del Esp\u00edritu Nacional,<\/em> per als nois (una part important del contingut procedia de les lli\u00e7ons d&#8217;educaci\u00f3 pol\u00edtica, f\u00edsica i premilitar de la revista <em>Mandos<\/em>, editada pel <em>Frente de Juventudes<\/em>) i <em>Labores y Ense\u00f1anzas del Hogar<\/em>, per a les noies. D&#8217;altra banda, la inclusi\u00f3 de l&#8217;Educaci\u00f3 F\u00edsica com una de les tres mat\u00e8ries necess\u00e0ries per obtenir qualsevol t\u00edtol universitari, juntament amb la religi\u00f3 i la pol\u00edtica, va contribuir, encara m\u00e9s, al seu desprestigi acad\u00e8mic quedant a l&#8217;imaginari col\u00b7lectiu com una de les assignatures Maria que s&#8217;aprovava autom\u00e0ticament.<\/p>\n<p>A mesura que el contingut ideol\u00f2gic del franquisme es va anar debilitant, la formaci\u00f3 de les Acad\u00e8mies de Comandaments va deixar de ser de car\u00e0cter pol\u00edtic, premilitar i f\u00edsic per ser m\u00e9s especialitzada fins a integrar-se a l&#8217;Institut Nacional d&#8217;Educaci\u00f3 F\u00edsica (<strong>INEF<\/strong>). Aquesta nova instituci\u00f3, responsable de la formaci\u00f3 dels professors, va ser creada per la llei sobre Educaci\u00f3 F\u00edsica (1961), encara que no va iniciar la seva activitat fins al 1966 a Madrid i el 1975 a Barcelona. Curiosament, el primer director de l&#8217;INEF de Madrid, l&#8217;humanista Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Cagigal (2), va publicar el 1968 un article a la revista <em>Citius, Altius, Fortius<\/em> on plantejava l&#8217;<strong>Educaci\u00f3 F\u00edsica com una ci\u00e8ncia humanista<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>El pas seg\u00fcent en la \u201cnormalitzaci\u00f3\u201d de l&#8217;Educaci\u00f3 F\u00edsica com a disciplina acad\u00e8mica, ja en democr\u00e0cia, es va produir amb la publicaci\u00f3 del Reial Decret 790\/1981 que establia una durada dels estudis de 5 anys i la seva equival\u00e8ncia amb la resta de llicenciatures universit\u00e0ries . El curr\u00edculum s&#8217;orientava completament a la doc\u00e8ncia, tot i que amb el pas dels anys s&#8217;hi van incorporar continguts relacionats amb l&#8217;entrenament, la salut o la gesti\u00f3 esportiva. Com a resultat d&#8217;aquesta evoluci\u00f3, el Reial Decret 1423\/1992 va canviar la denominaci\u00f3 de la titulaci\u00f3 a Ci\u00e8ncies de l&#8217;Activitat F\u00edsica i l&#8217;Esport (<strong>CAFYD<\/strong>) i, encara m\u00e9s important, va permetre l&#8217;acc\u00e9s als estudis de tercer cicle universitari possibilitant la creaci\u00f3 d\u2019estudis de doctorat. Es tractava del reconeixement impl\u00edcit de l\u2019activitat f\u00edsica i l\u2019esport com a objecte d\u2019estudi cient\u00edfic i un gran impuls per a la recerca en aquest \u00e0mbit. Mig segle despr\u00e9s, l&#8217;educaci\u00f3 f\u00edsica tornava a situar-se a l&#8217;al\u00e7ada de la resta d&#8217;especialitats docents.<\/p>\n<p>No pot ser fruit de la casualitat que, despr\u00e9s de recuperar l&#8217;estatus acad\u00e8mic de l&#8217;Educaci\u00f3 F\u00edsica, els temaris d&#8217;oposicions publicats al BOE el 21 de setembre de 1993, encara vigents, s&#8217;iniciessin amb la fonamentaci\u00f3 epistemol\u00f2gica de la mat\u00e8ria, una justificaci\u00f3 potser innecess\u00e0ria per a altres disciplines, per\u00f2 imprescindible per a una mat\u00e8ria tan \u201cq\u00fcestionada\u201d.
